How to Make COVID-19 Updates to Your Google Business Profile

As you update your marketing channels with COVID-related information, remember to edit your Google Business Profile to reflect any changes. This is especially important for retailers and restaurants who’ve made multiple pivots (first open, now closed, or vice versa), which may be confusing to customers.

First, log in to your account at business.google.com

Update your business hours

Changed your hours? Or have an upcoming special event that impacts your regular hours? Let your customers know

To update your standard hours: click Info at left, then the pencil icon on the right to make changes.

Do you have holiday or special event hours? Click Info at left, then the pencil icon on the right to update your hours.

Need to share even more options for hours? Click Info at left, then the pencil icon on the right to make updates

Mark your business as temporarily closed

Closing your business temporarily? Click Info, scroll down, then select “Mark as temporarily closed.”

Just don’t forget to uncheck this box when you open again.

Create a COVID-related post

Posts are an excellent way to share more details about how you’re keeping customers and staff safe at your business.

You can share things like capacity limits, curbside pickup options, and extra steps you’re taking to limit exposure.

At left, click Posts, then COVID-19 update. Fill in all relevant information and click Publish to make your post live.

Stay active on your Google Business Profile

Not only will your customers appreciate knowing about changes to your business during COVID, keeping your page updated builds trust with your audience and let’s them know you’re still here for them.
